The Tasmanian Gay and Lesbian Rights Group is a community-based organisation campaigning for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender human rights in Tasmania.
The TGLRG led the successful 1988-1997 campaign for gay law reform in Tasmania, as well as subsequent campaigns for state anti-discrimination and same-sex relationship laws.
Australian Marriage Equality (AME) is a national, membership-based organisation working for equal marriage rights for all Australians regardless of their gender or sexuality. We have members and supporters from across Australia and overseas. AME believes that a person’s gender or sexuality should not affect their legal rights and responsibilities under Australian marriage law. As a membership-based organisation, AME relies entirely on the generosity of its members and other supporters in the community.
We are the parents and friends of gay and lesbian people who are a part of our community. Some of our families may be large, some small. Some of us are married, some divorced, some single. Our occupations are a varied as our personalities and educational levels. HOWEVER. We do have a common bond. Someone we love and care for is lesbian or gay.
Unions Tasmania is a proud supporter of marriage equality. We believe all Tasmanians should be treated equally and fairly under the law. Discrimination of any kind harms our state.
